The Concerned residents of Offinso in the Ashanti Region have embarked on a peace walk, a peace-building initiative aimed at creating a conducive environment for growth and development.
The community has been plagued by a recent chieftaincy dispute, which has hindered progress and discouraged investors from putting their money into the local economy.
The youth, who are the most affected, lamented the scarcity of job opportunities and emphasized the need for peace to attract investors.
Francis Kwabena Yankyera, speaking on behalf of the youth, called on the royal family to put aside their differences and support Nana Dwamena Akenten II, Offinso Manhene, and Nana Adwoa Afranewaa III, Offinso Manhemaa.
Yankyera also urged the Offinso traditional council to support the Paramount chief in developing the community.
Furthermore, he appealed to security agencies to provide protection to the Offinso traditional council, particularly during the Akwasidae celebrations.
Nana Kwame Owusu Fordjour, Offinso Manhene Kyeame, assured the youth that the community would maintain peace to foster development, create job opportunities, and improve living standards.
This initiative is a crucial step towards achieving sustainable development and peace in Offinso.
