Let’s Embrace Technology and Vocational Skills to Foster National Success – Business Mogul

A renowned business mogul, Dr. Daniel McKorley, has urged Ghanaians to embrace Technology and Vocational Skills to foster Ghana’s success.

Mr. Mckorley emphasized the vital role of technology and vocational skills in achieving national success during his keynote address at Kumasi Technical University’s (KsTU) 70th-anniversary celebration.

As the Chief Executive Officer(CEO), of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr. McKorley brought his wealth of experience to the table, highlighting the significant gains made by countries that have invested heavily in technical and vocational institutions (TVET) and technologies.

Dr. McKorley stressed that TVET is not just about obtaining a certificate, but about practical application and problem-solving. He urged companies to stop using student interns as errand boys, emphasizing the need for meaningful training and skill development.

“Whenever you send students to companies to learn, they end up turning them into messengers,” Dr. McKorley lamented, pointing out the absurdity of assigning tasks like running errands to students studying technical fields.

The event also saw the launch of KsTU’s official history book, chronicling its journey from inception to the present day.

Chancellor Dr. Addo Kuffour acknowledged and honored individuals who have contributed to the university’s growth over the years.

Dr. McKorley’s passion for technical and vocational skills, as well as technological advancement, is well-known.

His address served as a call to action, urging stakeholders to prioritize investment in these areas to drive national success.
