Ashanti Regional NPP MPs Inspect Adum Fire Scene, Donates GHS150,000 to Victims

The Ashanti Regional NPP MPs have inspected the Adum fire scene and donated GHS 150,000 to the victims.

Led by, Hon. Kofi Amankwaa Manu, the former minister for defense under the Nana Addo led NPP government and member of parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency in the Ashanti Region, the Members of Parliament expressed sympathy for the traders.

The Ashanti Region Parliamentary Caucus of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been actively supporting those affected by the fire outbreak.

The donation came amidst a letter Hon. Lawyer Obiri Yeboah, the MP for Subin wrote to inform parliament and the Ashanti Regional NPP Caucus on the fire outbreak in his constituency.

The donation aims to ease the immediate financial burden on the traders and provide them with comfort.

Addressing the traders, the former defense minister, indicated that the party will continue to support the traders until the market is rebuilt.

Hon. Lawyer Obiri Yeboah, the member of parliament for Subin Constituency also highlighted on the party’s support for the traders, stressing on rallying support to encourage the traders re-build the market by themselves.

Speaking during the presentation,Bernard Antwi Bosiako, often know as Chairman Wontumi, appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to support the victims of the Adum fire outbreak, citing what he did for Kantamanto fire victims as an example.

The fire, which occurred on March 21, 2025, ravaged over 1000 shops, destroying items worth millions of Ghana Cedis. During their visit, the NPP executives inspected the affected area to determine the best way to assist in its redevelopment.
