Savannah Regional Minister Urges Students to Shun Drugs and Social Vices

 

 

The Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salisu Bia Wurbe, has advised students of Damongo Senior High School to steer clear of social vices, citing growing indiscipline among students nationwide.

He gave this advice during a one-day sensitization event at the school, organized by the Better Dream Foundation Ghana.

The event, which brought together officers from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prison Service, traditional leaders, and political leaders, aimed to educate students on their fundamental human rights, consequences of crime, and dangers of substance abuse.

The Regional Director of Better Dream Foundation Ghana emphasized the organization’s commitment to helping youth live drug-free lives.

 

The Operations Manager for the Savannah Regional Police Command highlighted the benefits of a good school-police relationship in combating crime.

ADP Frank Okyere of the Ghana Prisons Service lamented the use of illicit drugs like marijuana and tramadol.

The Regional Registrar for CHRAJ, Tolodompewura Abdallah Ahmed, educated students about their fundamental human rights and instances of abuse.

Hon. Salisu Bia Wurbe urged students to focus on their education and avoid social vices to become responsible citizens.

The program which is aimed at securing better future for students was funded by the Blessed Care International Foundation.
