The 2nd edition of the Basic Schools Assessment Contest (B.S.A.C.) has been officially unveiled, promising an exciting competition among top schools in the Ashanti Region.
This year’s second edition contest which was unveiled today June 19,2025, at the GNAT HALL Amakom, Kumasi is aimed at promoting academic excellence, creativity, and teamwork among basic school students.
The contest will feature a range of events, including quizzes, debates, and critical thinking assessment exam.
17 top schools from the Ashanti Region have been selected to participate in the competition.
The schools include: Reverence Preparatory School, Lofty Pacesetters School Complex, Adom Educational Complex, Levites Academy, Konadu Educational Complex, O. A. Legacy International School, Jachie Stem Academy, Eldia Montessori School, New Life Christian Academy, SSNIT Presbyterian Model School, Lordina International School, Moreag Montessori, Queen Namies Montessori, Unique Educational Complex, Greenlight Educational Complex, and Glitters Star Academy.
According to organizers the students will be assessed on their knowledge, critical thinking, and presentation skills.
Pastor Philip Sarpong, CEO of Perfect Star Media Production indicated that the contest aims to encourage students to strive for academic excellence and develop a love for learning.
Promote teamwork and collaboration among students, essential skills for future success.
Pastor Philip Sarpong further noted that the competition will provide platform for students to showcase their talents and abilities.
During the unveiling speech, the brain behind the contest, Pastor Sarpong revealed that the winner for this year’s second edition will take away GHS20,000 together with other learning materials as well as souvenirs, adding that it will follow in that order down to the fifth position.
Pastor Sarpong congratulated and encouraged all participating schools to put up their best to be able to win the ultimate prize.
“The B.S.A.C. is an excellent opportunity for our students to demonstrate their skills and compete with their peers,” an administrator from a participating school stated.
“We are excited to find ourselves in this year’s second edition contest, and we hope to proceed through to the final,” one other administrator said.
The 2nd edition of the B.S.A.C. promises to be an exciting and enriching experience for participating students, teachers, and schools.
Nana Asenso Dapaah, Otumfuo Kyeame Dwantoahene who graced the occasion lauded organizers of the competition, especially Pastor Philip Sarpong for being the brain behind such an educative initiative.
He further called on Ghana Education Service (GES) recommend the competition to all basic schools across Ghana, asking them to adopt the initiative and make it a national contest.
