
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has arrived in Ghana for a three-day state visit aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation between Germany and Ghana.
During his visit, President Steinmeier has engaged in discussions with Ghanaian leaders on strengthening economic and technological partnerships.

President Steinmeier held closed-door discussions with President John Dramani Mahama to explore areas of mutual interest and strengthen economic ties.
The third day of his three-day state visit to Ghana saw him pay a courtesy visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace, solidifying the bond between the Asante Kingdom and Germany.

President Steinmeier also met with young Ghanaian IT specialists to explore opportunities for collaboration in the digital economy, visiting Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI), Suame Magazine, etc.
The German President participated in a sod-cutting ceremony at the Kumasi Technical Institute, highlighting Germany’s commitment to technical and vocational education in Ghana.

The visit underscores the strong partnership between Ghana and Germany, with cooperation spanning renewable energy, technical education, good governance, and sustainable economic development.

Germany’s interest in Ghana’s emerging technology sector aligns with broader European strategies to engage with Africa’s digital economy.
