Asafohene Expresses Gratitude to Asantehene for His Akwamu Position after Five Years  

The Asafohene Akyeamfuo Asafo Boakye Agyemang Bonsu, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for the honour and trust bestowed on him through his appointment as Akwamuhene of the Asantehene, as he marked five years in the position.

Speaking at a ceremony to commemorate the milestone, the Asafohene described his five-year journey as one guided by service, discipline, and loyalty to the Golden Stool. He noted that the opportunity to serve as Akwamuhene had deepened his understanding of traditional leadership and strengthened his commitment to the values of Asanteman.

According to him, the Akwamu position carries significant responsibility, particularly in matters relating to traditional security, order, and the protection of the Asantehene and the Golden Stool. He assured Otumfuo Osei Tutu II of his unwavering allegiance and pledged to continue executing his duties with diligence and integrity.

The Asafohene also expressed appreciation to the Council of Elders, queen mothers, and members of the Asafo for their guidance and support throughout the five years. He acknowledged that their counsel and cooperation had been instrumental in the successes recorded during his tenure.

Traditional leaders and dignitaries present commended the Asafohene for his humility and dedication to duty, noting that his leadership had contributed to peace, unity, and respect for tradition within the community.

As he looks ahead, the Asafohene reaffirmed his commitment to serve Asanteman faithfully and to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Asantehene through continued selfless service and adherence to Asante customs and values.
