A non-governmental organization called Vision Barnabas, has extended critical support to admitted children across four hospitals in the Ashanti Region, bringing relief to vulnerable families and improving the welfare of young patients receiving medical care.

The outreach, which took place today, December 26,2025, covered selected public hospitals where children are being treated for various health conditions.
The benefiting hospitals include Suntreso Government Hospital, Tech Hospital, Asokwa Children’s Hospital and Atonsu Government Hospital.

During the visit, Vision Barnabas provided essential supplies including food items, toiletries, clothing, medical consumables, and other necessities aimed at easing the burden on both patients and caregivers.

Speaking during the intervention, Dr. Ernest Obeng, Director of Finance for the organisation and a lecturer at the Christian Service University, said the initiative was part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting children in distress and complementing healthcare delivery, particularly for families facing financial hardship.

“Our goal is to ensure that no child feels abandoned or neglected while receiving medical care,” a spokesperson for Vision Barnabas said. “Beyond treatment, children need comfort, encouragement, and practical support to aid their recovery.”
In all, about three hundred children across the four hospitals benefited from the intervention.

Vision Barnabas reaffirmed its dedication to child welfare and called on individuals, corporate bodies, and government institutions to collaborate in addressing the needs of vulnerable children, especially those battling illness.
The organization stated that similar outreach programs would continue in other hospitals and communities as part of its broader humanitarian mission.
Dr. Ernest Obeng further disclosed the organization’s commitment to providing support for brilliant but needy students both the senior high level and the University, churches in deprived communities, and the vulnerable in the society.

Medical staff in the benefiting hospitals commended the organization for the gesture, noting that such interventions significantly boost morale among young patients and their families. Some caregivers also expressed gratitude, describing the support as timely and impactful.
Parents who received the items also expressed profound gratitude to the organisation for their kind gesture, describing it as timely and impactful initiative which will go a long way to boost the recovery rate of their wards.
