Tensions have escalated in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region following a violent clash between youth from Asisiriwa and Brodekwano, which has resulted in the tragic death of two individuals from Brodekwano.
The Assemblyman for Asisiriwa Electoral Area, Hon. Prince Boateng, popularly known as Barosky, has called on security agencies to intervene swiftly to prevent further escalation of the conflict. He also appealed to the youth of both communities to exercise restraint and work towards restoring peace.
According to him, the confrontation between the two communities intensified over unresolved disputes, leading to violent exchanges that claimed lives and heightened fear among residents. The incident has since created tension across neighboring communities within the district.
Hon. Boateng expressed deep concern over the loss of lives and the growing insecurity in the area. He emphasized the need for immediate action by law enforcement agencies to maintain order and protect lives and property.
“I am urging the security services to step in as a matter of urgency to restore calm and prevent any further violence. At the same time, I appeal to our youth in Asisiriwa and Brodekwano to remain calm and avoid any actions that could worsen the situation,” he stated.
He further called on traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and stakeholders in both communities to collaborate in resolving the dispute amicably. According to him, dialogue and unity remain the only sustainable path to peace.
Residents in the affected communities are living in fear, with some calling for increased security presence to ensure their safety. Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident, but investigations are expected to commence to establish the cause of the clash and bring perpetrators to justice.
