BOLE, SAVANNAH REGION – August 10, 2026

The Jama Traditional Area in the Bole District of the Savannah Region has appealed to the Bui Power Authority and the Minister responsible for Energy to support development initiatives in the area.
The appeal was made on Friday, August 7, 2026, during a stakeholder engagement meeting with the Bui Power Authority, where the Authority presented its 2025 Annual Report.

Speaking at the meeting, the Paramount Chief of the Jama Traditional Area, Nnaa Lanjagor Karley II, called for stronger collaboration between the Authority and the Traditional Area to accelerate development and address the needs of local communities.
He also appealed to the Energy Minister to provide an electricity transformer to connect Jama Township to the Jama Moonyoa Market and surrounding communities.

According to the Paramount Chief, improved electricity supply would enhance economic activities, support traders and create an enabling environment for development within the area.
Nnaa Lanjagor Karley II reaffirmed the Traditional Area’s commitment to working closely with the Bui Power Authority, government and other stakeholders to promote sustainable development and improve the livelihoods of the people of Jama.
