Founder and Leader of Ghana Freedom Party Goes Home

Maame Akua Donkor, the founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party, was laid to rest today, March 29, 2025, in a solemn ceremony attended by family, community leaders, and sympathizers.

The funeral rites took place at Ejuratia in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, and were led by the Aduana clan and the Traditional Council of Ejuratia.

Maame Akua Donkor passed away on October 28, 2024, leaving behind a legacy as a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, particularly known for her advocacy for farmers’ and women’s rights.

Her untimely demise was deeply felt, and the funeral ceremony was a testament to her impact on the lives of many.

The event was attended by dignitaries from both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), highlighting her influence across political divides.

However, the ceremony was not without incident, as Maame Akua Donkor’s only daughter collapsed during the procession to the cemetery.

Maame Akua Donkor’s dedication to public service and her commitment to the welfare of Ghanaians will be deeply missed.

As the nation bids farewell to this remarkable leader, her legacy will continue to inspire and motivate others to follow in her footsteps.
