Ashanti NPP Trains Constituency Secretaries Ahead of 2028 Elections

The Ashanti Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has organised a capacity-building workshop for constituency secretaries and their deputies to strengthen their knowledge of the party’s internal structures and enhance their preparedness for the 2028 general elections.

The workshop, held at the Longford Event Center at Odeneho Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region, is expected to bring together 94 constituency secretaries and deputy secretaries from across the region.

The workshop brought together 94 constituency secretaries and deputy secretaries from across the Ashanti Region as part of efforts to improve party administration, coordination and organisational effectiveness at the constituency level.

Speaking to the media on the purpose of the gathering, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, Francis Adomako, outlined the importance of equipping the party’s constituency-level officers with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their duties effectively.

The initiative is part of the regional leadership’s efforts to strengthen the party’s internal structures and ensure constituency secretaries and their deputies understand their roles and responsibilities within the party.

The training is also aimed at improving coordination between the regional and constituency executives, while promoting effective communication and the implementation of party policies and directives.

The NPP’s Ashanti Regional leadership believes that a well-organised party structure at the grassroots level will be crucial to mobilising supporters, maintaining party unity and positioning the party for the 2028 general elections.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Kyeretwie, has urged the government to avoid selective justice in dealing with individuals charged with making politically related insulting remarks.

He called on the government to adopt a holistic approach to addressing the menace, stressing the need for fairness and consistency in dealing with persons accused of engaging in political insults, irrespective of their political affiliations.

Former Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Hon. Joe Osei Wusu, who was among the guest speakers indicated that discipline will be a major focus of the capacity-building workshop organised by the Ashanti Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He emphasised the importance of discipline within the party’s structures, particularly among constituency secretaries and their deputies, as the party works to strengthen its internal administration ahead of the 2028 general elections.
