Tension is rising in the Atwima Nwanbiagya South Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as party executives vehemently oppose the nomination of former Parliamentary candidate Osei Wisdom Boama for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
The executives are upset, citing Boama’s alleged role in the NDC’s defeat in the constituency.
According to Abu Saddick, chairman of the party for Atwima Nwanbiagya South, the party executives cannot work with Boama due to his lack of competence for the MCE position. Saddick urged the national executives to consider alternative candidates.
Meanwhile, Hajia Fati Adams, the women’s organizer for Atwima Nwanbiagya South, raised concerns about the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) in the constituency.
Adams alleged that some individuals have sold the school feeding program to unknown entities, calling for an investigation by the party’s national executives.
The controversy has sparked worries among party members, who fear that Boama’s nomination could exacerbate existing tensions within the party.
The NDC’s national executives are yet to respond to the concerns raised by the constituency executives.
