NPP Race: “We Won Only 1 Community Out of 3,000 Zongo Communities in 2024 Elections” – Bryan Acheampong

Dr. Bryan Acheampong has expressed concern over the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) performance in Zongo communities during the 2024 general elections, disclosing that the party won only one out of an estimated 3,000 Zongo communities nationwide.

He made this revelation during his second face-to-face engagement with party delegates in Atwima Mponua in the Ashanti Region, as part of ongoing consultations in the internal NPP race.

Dr. Acheampong emphasized that the party’s sole success among Zongo communities was recorded in the Effutu Zongo community, describing the outcome as a major setback that requires urgent attention.

According to him, the figures reflect a significant gap in the party’s outreach and engagement with an important voter base, adding that the NPP must adopt more inclusive strategies if it hopes to regain lost ground in future elections.

He stressed that lessons from the 2024 elections should inform leadership decisions and campaign approaches ahead of the 2028 polls, as the party works to rebuild confidence and strengthen its national appeal.

Dr. Acheampong’s comments have further fueled discussions within the NPP on reform, accountability, and the direction of the party going forward.

He therefore called on party delegates and stakeholders to trust his candidacy and vote for him come Saturday, January 31,2026 in order to win power for the party come 2028 general elections.
