St. Theresa’s School Emerges as National Winners in Basic Schools Assessment Contest

The St. Theresa’s School of North Kaneshie in the Greater Accra Region has made its mark in the educational landscape by emerging as national winners in the Basic Schools Assessment Contest.

This achievement showcases the school’s commitment to academic excellence and its ability to foster critical thinking skills among its students.

The contest was organised by Pastor Philip Sarpong, the CEO of Perfect Star Media Production (Producers of Perfect Series Books) in collaboration with Perfect Grade Publication and Stationery.

The contest featured a range of questions and challenges designed to test students’ knowledge and critical thinking skills.

St. Theresa’s School’s performance earned them the top spot with a cash prize of GHS20,000, a Laptop, a Double Decker Refrigerator, a 55 inches Television, a plaque, medals, a Citation, Tablets for participating learners as well as next stage Perfect Series Text books, and a first position trophy.

Madam Judith Ekua Mensah, a teacher who led the school’s delegation, expressed pride in the students’ achievement, highlighting the school’s commitment to quality education.

She further commended organizers of the contest, especially Pastor Philip Sarpong for such educative initiative and called for support from other stakeholders to sustain the initiative.

The national contest which took place at the GNAT Hall, Amakom, Kumasi, on September 25,2025, featured six schools including: St. Theresa’s School from North Kaneshie, Accra, Mamprobi Salvation Army Basic “A”, Accra, Cefelix Academy, Accra, Unique Educational Cplex, Konongo, Reverence Preparatory School, Offinso Old Town, and O. A. Legacy International School, Feyiase( Bosomtwe).

Pastor Philip Sarpong,CEO for Perfect Star Media Production, expressed gratitude to God saying “the journey through to the national finals has been successful because of God’s intervention but not human effort.”

He further appreciation to all participating schools right from the auditioning stage through to the national stage for making the contest a successful one.

He further called for sponsorship from individuals, groups, stakeholders to secure its sustainability.

However, Pastor Sarpong called for support from all stakeholders to sustain the project rather than sabotaging the impactful initiative.
