Professor Kalamonia Seeks Re-election as Savannah Regional NPP Chairman

Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, popularly known as Professor Kalamonia, has officially declared his intention to seek re-election as the Savannah Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a statement issued on July 14, 2026, Professor Kalamonia appealed to delegates to renew his mandate, saying the progress made under his leadership should be continued.

He said his campaign is built on the theme, “One NPP, Total Victory in 2028,” which focuses on four key pillars: Unity, Service, Empowerment and Victory.

He pledged to strengthen unity within the party by promoting an inclusive leadership style that brings together all constituencies and interest groups.

He also promised to maintain an open-door policy and remain accessible to party members across the Savannah Region.

On empowerment, Professor Kalamonia said his next administration would continue to support polling station, electoral area and constituency executives, as well as party communicators, women, youth and the Nasara wing through training, logistical assistance and welfare programmes.

Looking ahead to the 2028 general elections, he expressed confidence that the NPP would retain the Damongo parliamentary seat, reclaim constituencies lost in the last election and secure an overwhelming presidential victory for the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Professor Kalamonia urged delegates to vote for continuity, stressing that his experience, leadership and commitment make him the right person to lead the party to victory in the Savannah Region.

He concluded by calling on delegates to retain him as Savannah Regional Chairman, with the campaign slogan: “Retain What Works.”
