Bole-Bamboi MP Secures Funding to Complete 14-Year-Old Abandoned Staff Quarters at Bole District Hospital

The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Dr. Yusif Sulemana, has secured funding for the completion of a 14-year-old abandoned staff quarters project at the Bole District Hospital.

The project, which comprises more than 20 residential units, was initiated in 2012 under the leadership of a former Medical Superintendent, Dr. Joe, using the hospital’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF). However, construction stalled midway due to inadequate funding.

In May 2026, during a meeting with the hospital’s management, the issue of the abandoned project was brought to the attention of Dr. Sulemana. Management appealed to the MP to support the completion of the facility, citing an acute shortage of accommodation for health workers.

Recognising the importance of decent accommodation in attracting and retaining critical healthcare professionals, Dr. Sulemana pledged to intervene promptly.

In fulfilment of that promise, the MP has secured the necessary funding and engaged a contractor, who has already commenced work on-site to ensure the completion of the long-abandoned project.

The completion of the staff quarters is expected to improve accommodation for health workers, strengthen staff retention, and ultimately enhance healthcare delivery at the Bole District Hospital.
