The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has returned to Ghana after a successful visit to the United States, receiving a rousing welcome from chiefs, dignitaries, traditional leaders and members of the public.

The Asantehene arrived in the country following his engagements in the United States, where he participated in a number of high-level programmes and activities aimed at promoting Ghanaian culture, education, development and the interests of the Asante Kingdom.
His return was met with excitement as traditional leaders and supporters gathered to welcome him home and celebrate his return.

During his US visit, Otumfuo delivered a major lecture at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he spoke extensively on the importance of culture, leadership, education and responsible governance.
He called for cultural preservation to become an integral part of Ghana’s educational policy, warning that the loss of indigenous languages, traditions and knowledge could deprive future generations of an important part of their identity.
The Asantehene also stressed the need for public resources to be treated as belonging to the people and not as personal property for public officials to exploit.

He emphasised that strong institutions must be supported by a strong moral culture to safeguard the interests of society and ensure responsible leadership.
His engagements in the United States further highlighted the role of traditional leadership in national development and the importance of preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage in an increasingly globalised world.

Upon his return, the enthusiastic reception reflected the affection and respect many Ghanaians and members of the Asante Kingdom continue to have for the Asantehene.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is expected to resume his traditional and development-related duties following his return to the country.
