Individuals with disabilities have expressed heartfelt gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for launching the Adwumawura Programme, designed to provide employment opportunities and promote inclusivity.

The Adwumawura Programme was launched on April 28, 2025, at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi.

The primary objective is to empower persons with disabilities, youth, and other beneficiaries by creating jobs and promoting economic development.

They revealed that the programme has instilled confidence in them, and this will enable them to contribute to the economy and improve their livelihoods.

According to them, the program promotes social inclusion, breaking down barriers and stereotypes that often hinder the participation of persons with disabilities.

The programme provides jobs for people with disabilities, allowing them to earn a living and support themselves.

“We’re grateful to President Mahama for initiating the Adwumawura Programme, which has given us hope and opportunities for employment.”

While expressing gratitude, some individuals with disabilities raised concerns about the programme’s sustainability. They called on implementers to provide necessary assistance and support to ensure the initiative’s success.

President Mahama believes the Adwumawura Programme will positively impact Ghanaians’ lives, particularly persons with disabilities. He emphasized the programme’s potential to address unemployment issues and promote economic growth.

The Adwumawura Programme marks a significant step towards empowering people with disabilities and promoting their rights.
