Opoku Ware Senior High School (OWASS) has celebrated its 73rd anniversary with a grand durbar on May 10, 2025, at its premises in Santasi, Ashanti Region.
The event was themed “Developing 21st Century Talent: Integrating Digital and Social Skills.”
The Minister for Works and Housing, Hon. Kenneth Adjei, and the Obogumanhene, Nana Owusu Ampe III, were among the esteemed guests.
Outstanding students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff were recognized for their exceptional achievements.
The program featured a splendid cadet display, cultural performances, and choir songs.
In an interview, Headmaster Father Stephen Owusu Sekyere emphasized the school’s commitment to discipline.
He stressed that the school will not tolerate misconduct, particularly the possession of harmful items, therefore urging parents to support teachers in disciplining their children.
The headmaster appealed for support to transform the school into a single-track system, which would require one dormitory house and an expanded dining hall to accommodate all three forms.
The school seeks assistance from the government and old students to achieve this goal.
