NPP’s Internal Elections: Give Every Card-Bearing Member the Opportunity- Akwasi Addai Odike Advises

The founder and leader of the United Front Party and a businessman, Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike, has advised the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to give every card-bearing member the opportunity to participate in the party’s internal elections.

According to him relying solely on delegates to select the party’s flagbearer and parliamentary candidates may not be the best approach to winning power.

Speaking on OTEC Fm’s afternoon show, “Dwabrem” hosted by Dok Cash on July 31,2025, Odike advocated for a system where every card-bearing member can vote in their internal elections, rather than just delegates.

He indicated that the approach will promote the party’s democracy and reduce the influence of a select few in determining the party’s direction.

Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike believes that the approach will also ensure inclusiveness of members.

The former flagbearer argued that this approach will help the party win power by giving all members a stake in the decision-making process, highlighting that the approach will make members feel included in the party’s direction.

He further noted that allowing all card-bearing members to participate in the internal elections can increase voter turnout and engagement.

He revealed that the approach may lead to the selection of leaders who are more representative of the party’s grassroots.
