Kumasi on Track to Become the “Garden City” Again as Regional Minister Leads Massive Cleanup

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has spearheaded a massive cleanup exercise in Kumasi, marking a significant step towards restoring the city’s reputation as the “Garden City.”

This is the second time Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has led this kind of exercise in the Metropolis.

The cleanup exercise comes amidst the upcoming Ashantifest celebration in the region.

The exercise saw the participation of of residents, businesses, and government agencies, all working together to clear waste, beautify public spaces, and promote environmental hygiene.

Speaking to the media during the exercise, the minister emphasized the importance of community involvement in sustaining the city’s cleanliness and ensuring the long-term success of the initiative.

“We encourage residents to take ownership of their environment, with local authorities providing the necessary support and resources to maintain the city’s beauty,” Dr. Amoakohene stated.

This initiative underscores the regional minister’s commitment to maintaining cleanliness and beautification across the city.

The cleanup effort is part of a broader strategy to revitalize Kumasi and enhance its appeal as a clean, green, and thriving metropolis.

“By working together, the community and government can ensure that Kumasi remains a vibrant and sustainable city for future generations,” the minister added.
