
A former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and presidential candidate hopeful, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has expressed concerns about the monetization of Ghana’s Politics.
According to the flagbearer hopeful, this trend of monetizing polotics is detrimental to the country’s democratic process and therefore urges Party delegates to prioritize competence and vision over financial inducements.
Ing. Agyepong advised parry delegates to resist monetary inducements and focus on selecting a leader who prioritizes party and national interest over personal financial gains.
He emphasized the need for value-driven leadership rooted in service, humility, and competence, rather than wealth and privilege.
He highlighted on his competence level and his unifying ability which can bring integrity and purpose to the party’s leadership.
Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong believes that when politicians prioritize financial gains, they may favor their financiers’ interests over the needs of the general population, and therefore entreated delegates to look into the future and select a candidate who will prioritize the needs of the general population.
Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, August 27,27,2025, he stressed on prioritizing national interest, and promising the well-being of the Ghanaians, but not just political financiers.
Moreover, the Presidential candidate hopeful, urged party delegates to select a candidate that will be accepted by Ghanaians in order to win power for the party during the 2028 general elections.
