
A Flagbarer hopeful and former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has emphasized the need to market Ghana’s domestic football league to generate income and increase its popularity.
According to the flagbearer hopeful, the effective marketing strategies can help attract more fans, sponsors, and revenue to the league.
Ing. Agyepong stressed that marketing is crucial to the success of Ghana’s domestic football league, which will enable it to compete with other sports leagues.
Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong indicated that he believes promoting the league will attract sponsors, and revenue to improve its financial stability.
Speaking to the media on August 27,2025, he emphasized on how Ghana’s football league has fallen and has lost its value in terms of attraction.
He weighed in on how fans rushed to various stadia to watch football matches from church services on Sundays some years back, and how people have lost interest in the game presently.
“If I win the flagbearership race of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and become the next president of the Republic, I will revive Ghana’s football league to make it more attractive,” he stated.
On the other hand, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, blamed the downfall of Ghana’s domestic football league on the media, stressing on their failure of advertising and selling games, especially big matches to football fans to ensure massive attendance at various stadia.
