An American-based Ghanaian and proud alumnus of Asanteman Senior High School in the Ashanti Region, Nana Mr. Davis Yaw Aboagye, has made a significant donation to his former school’s Sports Department in support of its development and upcoming competitions.
Mr. Aboagye, a member of the 2007 graduating year, donated a wide range of items including medical supplies, detergents, bags of rice, oats, over 1,000 sanitary pads with pantyliners, bedsheets with pillowcases, and a cash amount of GH¢1,000.
The donation was presented on his behalf by fellow old student and Sports Tutor of the school, Nana Frank Dwumfour.

The gesture forms part of Mr. Aboagye’s efforts to motivate and equip the school’s sports team as they begin preparations for the Inter-Schools and Colleges Athletics Super Zonals competition.
In a brief message read on his behalf, Nana Davis Yaw Aboagye encouraged student-athletes to take their academic work seriously, challenging the long-held perception that sports personalities do not require strong educational foundations to succeed in life. He emphasized the importance of balancing sports excellence with academic achievement.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school’s sports team, the Headmistress in charge of Domestic Affairs, Mrs. Georgina Osei, expressed profound gratitude to Nana Davis Yaw Aboagye and Nana Frank Dwumfour for what she described as a timely and thoughtful intervention ahead of the Super Zonals competition.
Mrs. Osei further appealed to other old students and corporate organizations to emulate the gesture by supporting the school’s development efforts, particularly in the area of sports and student welfare.

The donation has been widely welcomed by students and staff, serving as both a morale booster and a practical contribution toward the team’s competitive preparations.
