
The 1997 Year Group of Duase M/A Basic School has demonstrated its commitment to promoting quality education with a donation of two desktop computers and GHS1,000 to support the school’s Computer Knowledge Programme.
The donation, made during the school’s home coming ceremony on the school compound today, November 27,2025, was received with great appreciation from the staff and pupils. According to members of the 1997 alumni, the gesture forms part of their continued efforts to contribute meaningfully to their alma mater and help improve ICT education for pupils.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr. Gabriel Opoku Afriyie, noted that in a rapidly advancing digital world, basic schools must equip learners with the skills necessary to thrive. He explained that the computers and financial support would help strengthen the school’s computer laboratory, enhance practical learning, and ensure that pupils are not left behind in technological advancement.
The headteacher of Duase M/A Basic School, Mrs. Dorcas Owusu Aborah expressed profound gratitude to the year group, describing the donation as timely and impactful. She indicated that the computers would significantly improve ICT lessons, while the GHS1,000 would assist in maintaining the equipment, supporting utility costs, and acquiring additional learning materials.

“This support will go a long way in boosting pupils’ interest and performance in computer studies. We are truly grateful to the 1997 Year Group for remembering their roots,” she said.
Some pupils also expressed excitement about the improved learning resources, noting that practical access to computers would help them better understand ICT concepts and prepare them for future academic and career opportunities.
The 1997 Year Group reaffirmed their commitment to partnering with the school in future development projects, encouraging other alumni to join in uplifting the standard of education in the Duase community.
The donation marks a significant step in enhancing digital literacy and creating a more conducive learning environment for present and future learners of Duase M/A Basic School.
