SINOTRUK Ghana is set to organize free training in spare parts installation and related technical skills for Ghanaian youth as part of efforts to equip young people with practical skills and create employment opportunities.
The initiative was announced by the company’s Chief Representative in Ghana, Mr. Hao Ming, during the launch and opening of a new SINOTRUK spare parts shop at Kotwi, along the Obuasi–Kumasi Road in the Ashanti Region.
Mr. Hao Ming said the training programme is aimed at providing interested young people with hands-on knowledge and technical skills in spare parts installation, maintenance and other areas of the heavy-duty vehicle industry.
According to him, the initiative forms part of SINOTRUK Ghana’s commitment to supporting skills development and contributing to efforts to address unemployment among the youth.
He explained that beneficiaries who successfully acquire the necessary skills could use the training to secure employment in the automotive and heavy-duty vehicle industry or establish their own businesses and become self-employed.
Mr. Hao Ming therefore encouraged young people, particularly those with an interest in automotive mechanics, vehicle maintenance and spare parts installation, to take advantage of the opportunity.
He noted that equipping the youth with practical and marketable skills remains important in helping them become economically independent while also providing the country with a pool of skilled personnel for the automotive sector.
The newly opened SINOTRUK spare parts shop at Kotwi is also expected to improve access to genuine SINOTRUK spare parts for vehicle owners, mechanics, transport operators and businesses within the Ashanti Region and surrounding areas.
The availability of genuine spare parts, the company noted, would help mechanics and vehicle owners obtain the right components for repairs and maintenance, potentially improving vehicle performance and reducing challenges associated with the use of substandard parts.
SINOTRUK Ghana says it will continue to explore initiatives that combine its business operations with skills development, youth empowerment and job creation, as part of its contribution to Ghana’s economic growth and development.
