Henry Kwabena Kokofu Files for Ashanti NPP Chairmanship, Pledges Inclusive Leadership and Unity

Former Bantama Member of Parliament and lawyer, Henry Kwabena Kokofu Esq., has officially filed his nomination to contest the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), pledging to unite the party and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Mr. Kokofu filed his nomination at the party’s designated centre as the NPP continues preparations for its Ashanti Regional Executive Elections.

Speaking to the media after completing the filing process, the former Member of Parliament emphasized that unity must remain the party’s guiding principle before, during and after the elections.

According to him, internal cohesion and mutual respect among party members are essential if the NPP is to maintain its dominance in the Ashanti Region and recapture political power in the 2028 general elections.

He urged all aspirants, delegates and supporters to conduct their campaigns peacefully and avoid actions or utterances that could create division within the party, stressing that the elections should serve as an opportunity to strengthen the NPP rather than weaken it.

Mr. Kokofu stated that if elected as Regional Chairman, he would provide inclusive and visionary leadership by working closely with constituency executives, polling station officers, grassroots members and all stakeholders to reposition the party for future electoral success.

He noted that the Ashanti Region remains the electoral backbone of the NPP and therefore requires strong leadership capable of fostering unity, discipline and effective mobilization at all levels of the party.

The chairmanship aspirant further pledged to promote peace, transparency and teamwork in the administration of the regional party, while supporting initiatives that would energize the grassroots and improve internal party organization.

Mr. Kokofu concluded by appealing to delegates to support his candidature, assuring them of dedicated leadership focused on strengthening the NPP and ensuring the party remains united and well-prepared for victory in the 2028 general elections.
