Chief of Staff, Hon. Dr. Julius Debrah, has fulfilled his pledge of GH¢200,000 to the Bii-Kunuto Educational Fund to support educational initiatives for brilliant but needy students in Gonjaland.
The pledge was made during the recent Yagbon Damba Festival, where Hon. Dr. Julius Debrah served as the Special Guest of Honour.
According to the Bii-Kunuto Educational Fund, the Chief of Staff was inspired by the commitment of His Royal Majesty Jira Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I, King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, to creating educational opportunities for brilliant but needy students from Gonjaland.
Hon. Dr. Debrah was particularly moved by the Yagbonwura’s efforts to support a native of Gonjaland to undertake professional pilot training, with the vision of producing the first pilot from Gonjaland.
In fulfilment of his pledge, the GH¢200,000 donation was presented on behalf of the Chief of Staff by the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi, Hon. Dr. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana.
The Bii-Kunuto Educational Fund has expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Dr. Julius Debrah for the generous contribution and his commitment to advancing education and youth development in Gonjaland.
The Fund also commended Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I for his continued dedication to education and the development of young people in the Gonja Kingdom.
It further acknowledged individuals, institutions and organisations whose support continues to contribute to the success of the Fund.
The GH¢200,000 contribution is expected to strengthen the Fund’s efforts to support brilliant but needy students, expand access to education and nurture the next generation of professionals and leaders from Gonjaland.
The Bii-Kunuto Educational Fund says it remains committed to investing in education to build a stronger, more prosperous and empowered Gonjaland.
