COKA Urges Ashanti media to engage only approved NPP Communicators

The Ashanti Regional Chairman-elect of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman COKA, has urged media houses in the Ashanti Region to desist from inviting just anyone to speak on behalf of the party.

According to him, journalists and media organisations should engage only communicators who have been officially approved by the party’s Communications Directorate to represent the NPP on various platforms.

Chairman COKA made the call during a “Meet the Press” dinner with members of the media in Kumasi, where he appealed for stronger collaboration between the party and the media.

He cautioned media practitioners against inviting individuals who may not have the authority or mandate to speak for the party, stressing that such practice could lead to misinformation and misrepresentation of the NPP’s position on important national issues.

“Don’t just invite a communicator except an approved communicator by our director,” Chairman COKA told the media.

He said the directive was necessary to ensure consistency and accuracy in the communication of the party’s policies, programmes and positions.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman-elect further called on journalists to work closely with the party’s authorised communication structures to obtain accurate information before publishing or broadcasting issues concerning the NPP.

He expressed his commitment to maintaining a cordial relationship with the media and urged journalists to continue playing their role in promoting responsible political discourse and national development.
