
A man believed to be in his 40s is battling for his life after being run over by a trailer at the Ejisu Traffic Lights in the Ashanti Region.
The unfortunate incident occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, causing panic among motorists, traders and pedestrians who witnessed the scene.
According to eyewitness accounts, the victim was allegedly attempting to cross the road when the trailer, which was travelling through the busy intersection, knocked him down and ran over parts of his body. The exact circumstances leading to the accident remain unclear.
Residents and bystanders quickly rushed to the aid of the victim before emergency responders arrived at the scene. He was subsequently transported to a nearby health facility for urgent medical attention, where he is currently receiving treatment in critical condition.
The accident temporarily disrupted the smooth flow of traffic at the Ejisu Traffic Lights as curious onlookers gathered at the scene. Personnel from the police moved in to restore order and commence investigations into the incident.
As of the time of filing this report, the identity of the victim had not been officially established, while the driver of the trailer was assisting police with investigations.
