Bantama Market Traders Call on Customers to Patronise Their Abundant Foodstuffs

The vibrant Bantama Market in Kumasi is once again brimming with activity as traders appeal to customers to take advantage of the abundant, fresh, and affordable foodstuffs currently in stock.

According to the traders, this year’s harvest season has brought a significant supply of staple foods including plantain, yam, cassava, tomatoes, garden eggs, peppers, and assorted vegetables. Many of the traders say the availability of these food items has led to reduction in prices an opportunity they believe customers should not overlook.

Speaking to OTEC news reporter, Sarkodie Samuel, a plantain seller with over 20 years of experience in the market, urged residents of Kumasi and surrounding communities to make Bantama Market their first stop when shopping for fresh produce.

“We have more than enough foodstuffs this season, and the prices are very good,” she said. “Customers should come and buy in bulk or small quantities, there’s something for everyone.”

Other traders echoed similar sentiments, explaining that although they are well-stocked, customer turnout has been relatively low in recent weeks. They expressed worry that if patronage does not increase, much of the perishable goods may go to waste.

Some yam traders noted that the market remains one of the most reliable sources of fresh farm produce in the region.

“People should know that at Bantama Market, we sell directly from farmers. The food is fresh, clean, and affordable. We encourage everyone to come and support local trade,” they added.

Some customers who visited the market also confirmed the drop in prices, indicating that purchasing foodstuffs in the current season is more economical compared to previous months.

The Bantama Market traders are therefore appealing to households, restaurant operators, caterers, and bulk buyers to take advantage of the favorable prices and help sustain local businesses.

With the festive season approaching, traders remain hopeful that patronage will increase, ensuring that the surplus food items reach homes across the metropolis rather than ending up as waste.
