The Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area, His Royal Majesty Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, has enskinned Neripewurah Abubakari Kipson as the new Jewuasewura of the Buipe Traditional Area.
The colourful ceremony, which was steeped in Gonja culture and tradition, was held on September 5, 2026, at the Buipe Palace in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region.
Speaking during the outdooring ceremony following the enskinment, Buipewura Jinapor II urged the new Jewuasewura to lead a life worthy of emulation and dedicate himself to the development and progress of the Buipe Traditional Area.
He charged him to protect the interests of the people, provide wise counsel to the traditional authority, and conduct himself with humility, integrity and respect so that he would earn the admiration and confidence of all.
Buipewura Jinapor II emphasised that the Jewuase title is fifth in the hierarchy of the Buipe Traditional Area, making it a position of significant responsibility that must be occupied with integrity, wisdom and dedication.
He further urged the new chief to contribute to efforts to protect the environment and natural resources within the Buipe Traditional Area, noting that these resources remain vital to the livelihoods, culture and heritage of the people.
The Buipewura expressed confidence that the new Jewuasewura would discharge his duties diligently and work collaboratively with the traditional authority and the people to advance the development of the area.
