Rev. Banmarigu John Simon has been elected as the National Youth Organizer of the Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen (GNAFF) at the 8th annual Congress held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in Kumasi.

The election took place at the Pentecost Convention Center in Brofoyedro, where Rev. Simon emerged victorious, garnering 105 votes against his contender’s 30 votes out of a total of 136 valid votes.

As the newly elected National Youth Organizer, Rev. Simon’s vision is multifaceted. He intends to engage all regional and district youth organizers in a mass registration drive for farmers, fishermen, poultry farmers, and cash crop farmers.

Additionally, he plans to promote irrigation farming in the Northern part of the country to keep the youth productively engaged and reduce the allure of social vices.

Rev. Simon also emphasized the need to make crop farming more attractive. To this end, he promised that his executives would engage stakeholders, including traditional authorities, district assemblies, youth, farmers, and herders, to develop a roadmap for finding lasting solutions to the challenges faced by farmers.
