Christian Service University elects first Female SRC President in 52 years

In a historic and inspiring milestone, Christian Service University (CSU) has elected its first female Students’ Representative Council (SRC) President in 52 years. Chiamaka Francisca Aguh, a Level 300 Nursing student and a proud Nigerian, emerged victorious in the recent SRC elections, marking a significant moment in the university’s leadership history.

Her election represents a major step forward for gender inclusivity and student representation on campus. For over five decades, the SRC presidency had been held exclusively by male students, making Chiamaka’s achievement not only groundbreaking but also symbolic of progress and changing perspectives within the university community.

Serving alongside her is Samuel Gyamfi, a Level 300 Communication student, who has been elected as Vice President. Together, the duo is expected to bring fresh energy, diverse perspectives, and a renewed commitment to addressing student needs and concerns.

In her acceptance remarks, Chiamaka expressed gratitude to the student body for their trust and emphasized her dedication to inclusive leadership, academic support, and student welfare. She also highlighted the importance of empowering more women to take up leadership roles within academic institutions.

Students and faculty members alike have lauded the election results, describing it as a turning point that reflects the university’s evolving values and commitment to equality.

As Christian Service University begins this new chapter, many are optimistic that this leadership team will set a strong precedent for future generations and inspire more female students to pursue leadership opportunities.

This historic victory not only celebrates Chiamaka Francisca Aguh’s personal achievement but also signals a broader shift toward inclusivity and representation within the university community.
